About Commerce City Cultural Council, Inc.
Commerce City Cultural Council, Inc. is a community arts council and nonprofit partner of the City of Commerce City that plans and promotes public art, city cultural programming, and artist exhibitions. It operates as a nonprofit organization under Colorado law and is the local steward for the city’s public art and community arts initiatives.
In the last 2–3 years the Council has been active in public-art projects and seasonal programming (including a 2024 public-hydrant painting project and multiple mural and park-art installations), and continues to run the city’s annual summer Music in the Park concert series and rotating recreation-center art exhibitions.
Notable achievements
Art on Water hydrant project (2024)
Sponsored and coordinated a public-art effort that selected local artists to paint multiple fire hydrants across the city, increasing neighborhood visibility for artists and expanding the city’s public-art footprint.
Monaco Park mural installation (2024)
Helped select and install a new mural at the renovated Monaco Park, part of a multi-site mural rotation tied to park improvements.
Kalu Park Native American installation (2024)
Collaborated with the city on a Native American–themed art installation for the new Kalu Park, honoring regional tribal heritage as part of a park dedication.
