About Work Options (dba Work Options for Women)
Work Options is a Denver-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 84-1364292) founded in 1996 that provides free, industry-focused culinary and hospitality job training, hands-on work experience, and individualized support to help adults overcome barriers to sustainable employment.
The organization operates training kitchens and social enterprises (The Helping Hen food truck and The Helping Hen Café) where students gain real-world experience; it also runs apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship pathways tied to nationally recognized credentials.
In recent years Work Options pivoted to scale dual-impact meal production and training (producing over 300,000 meals to date), launched a culinary Pre-Apprenticeship in 2023, and received apprenticeship awards from the Colorado Department of Labor & Employment’s Office of the Future of Work.
