About HMONG AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF COLORADO
Founded to serve and uplift Colorado’s Hmong community, HMAAC is a statewide nonprofit focused on cultural preservation, education, and community integration. The organization runs programs that teach traditional arts and Hmong language, offers translation and elder services, and organizes signature community events.
HMAAC operates as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (tax-exempt since 2004) and in recent years has expanded youth leadership and arts programming, secured state arts funding for its Dance Academy, and continued large-scale public celebrations that draw thousands of participants.

Colorado Hmong New Year (multi-decade)
Sustained the Colorado Hmong New Year as an annual statewide celebration for decades (drawing thousands of attendees) that preserves Hmong traditions and serves as a central cultural gathering for the community.
State Arts Grant Award
Selected as a recipient of Colorado Creative Industries’ Folk & Traditional Arts Project Grant to support the Hmong Dance Academy’s teaching and preservation of traditional dance among youth.
