Founded in 1997 as the Colorado Fraternal Order of Police Public Safety Awareness Foundation and now operating as the Colorado Police Officers Foundation, the organization raises funds and runs programs to strengthen officer wellness, public safety education, and community–police partnerships.

Core programs include confidential PTSD and stress-related counseling referrals, financial assistance for officers and families affected by line-of-duty injury or death, training scholarships, youth outreach (including a Child I.D. program), and public-safety awareness initiatives. In the last 2–3 years the foundation has continued to support officer mental-health resources, produced awareness content and partnerships (including CopLine-related resources), and taken part in statewide fundraising campaigns.
