About Special Kids Special Families
Special Kids Special Families (SKSF) is a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving children, adults and families affected by disabilities in the Pikes Peak region. Founded in the late 1990s, SKSF provides respite, day programs, residential supports, foster care and behavioral health services across the lifespan.
SKSF operates a range of direct-service programs (including licensed child respite/day centers and adult day services), supports foster/adoptive placements, offers host-home and homecare services under waiver programs, and provides training and community-based supports designed to increase independence and family stability.
In recent years the organization has expanded clinical and homecare offerings, increased capacity in adult host-home services, and sustained large-scale operations supporting thousands of service hours annually.

Waiver Homecare Service Expansion
Expanded Homecare Services (personal care, homemaker and respite) under the SLS waiver to increase in-home supports for children and adults in recent years.
Growth in Host-Home Capacity
Significantly increased adult host-home/residential placements and supported dozens of adults transitioning from foster care or higher-need settings to community homes within the last 2–3 years.
Sustained Large-Scale Operations
Maintained multi-million dollar annual operations that support a broad portfolio of services across the lifespan, enabling continued service delivery and program expansion.
