About Colorado Youth Corps Association
The Colorado Youth Corps Association (CYCA) is a statewide nonprofit membership and support organization that represents and strengthens independent youth conservation corps across Colorado. CYCA is organized as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit.
CYCA provides accreditation, program support, contract management, AmeriCorps oversight, training, and strategic advocacy so corps can deliver high-quality land and water conservation projects while developing participants’ work and life skills.
In recent years CYCA has coordinated fee-for-service projects, secured competitive public funding for corps deployments, and administered national service awards and workforce credentials—enabling corps to employ and train hundreds to thousands of youth and young adults each year.

AmeriCorps program renewal and member impact
CYCA renewed and administered AmeriCorps national service funding for its corps programs (program year beginning January 1, 2023), supporting stipended service positions and education awards for hundreds of members statewide.
Major grant partnerships to expand crew deployments
In December 2023 CYCA partnered with Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) to distribute $1.2 million for conservation service corps projects statewide, enabling dozens of crew-weeks of work on trails, habitat restoration, and fuels mitigation in 2024 and beyond.
Documented statewide service metrics (recent year)
CYCA’s published metrics for recent program years include deployment of roughly 1,600–1,700 corps members statewide, hundreds of miles of trail work, thousands of hazard trees removed, and hundreds of household energy/water efficiency measures administered through member corps partnerships.
