About BOULDER COUNTY WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD
The Boulder County Workforce Development Board (WDB) is the locally appointed advisory body that guides Workforce Boulder County (WfBC), the county’s Colorado Workforce Center system. It develops strategy, identifies regional workforce needs, and aligns workforce, education, economic development, and employer partners to meet local labor-market priorities.
This board is a public, county-appointed workforce board operating under federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) authorities; it is not a standalone 501(c)(3) nonprofit but part of Boulder County’s government-led workforce system. In recent years the board has overseen procurement and selection of a One-Stop Operator, expanded employer partnerships, and supported a calendar of job fairs, sector convenings, and training initiatives.
Notable achievements
One-Stop Operator procurement (2024)
Completed a public RFP process and designated a One-Stop Operator to coordinate partner services and improve integrated service delivery across the local workforce system.
Expanded apprenticeship and employer partnerships
Strengthened collaboration with the Boulder Chamber and employer partners to support registered apprenticeships and sector-based talent solutions.
Regular public convenings and events
Sustained a multi-year schedule of job fairs, webinars, and convenings (including Workforce Development Month activities) to connect residents with employers and training opportunities.
