About FOR-SITE Foundation
FOR-SITE Foundation (founded 2003 by curator Cheryl Haines) is a San Francisco–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that produces site-responsive exhibitions, commissions, residencies, and public programs focused on art about place. The organization works extensively with park partners, cultural institutions, and artists to create projects in the Presidio, Fort Mason, Alcatraz, and other public sites. In recent years FOR-SITE has continued active programming: it launched The Guardhouse Program at Fort Mason in 2023 to present year-round site-specific installations, produced and presented the 2025 exhibition "Black Gold: Stories Untold," and maintains ongoing installations and partnerships that connect artists with public landscapes and audiences. The EIN provided (84-1617222) was verified against public nonprofit filings and organizational records.
