About BOUNTIFUL BASKET FOOD SHELF OF EASTERN CARVER COUNTY

Bountiful Basket Food Shelf of Eastern Carver County is a community-based food pantry that provides grocery-style emergency food and complementary resource navigation to residents of eastern Carver County, Minnesota. The organization operates with a client-centered, non-judgmental model and aims to ensure access to healthy, nutritious food for individuals and families. In recent years Bountiful Basket has expanded services and partnerships: it opened a second site in Cologne in July 2023, runs school snack programs and a Free Summer Food Market in collaboration with local schools and food partners, and in September 2024 adopted a refreshed mission and added a Community Resource Navigator to connect clients to housing, employment, healthcare and other supports. The organization has also increased its capacity to distribute fresh and refrigerated foods through recent logistics investments and community collaborations.

Notable achievements

Second Site Opened (Cologne, July 2023)

Expanded physical presence by opening a second food-shelf site in Cologne in July 2023 to reach western Carver County residents and address gaps in rural food access.

Mission Refresh & Community Resource Navigator (Sept 2024)

Adopted a new mission in September 2024 and launched a Community Resource Navigator role to provide holistic client support connecting food assistance with housing, healthcare, employment and other services.

Refrigerated Logistics Added

Added refrigerated-capacity distribution (through a community collaboration) to increase the delivery and storage of perishable items, expanding availability of fresh produce and protein to clients.
