Next Steps The Colony

Next Steps The Colony is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2019 to provide short- and long-term case management, coaching, and crisis resources for residents of The Colony, Texas. The organization operates community programs including transitional sober housing and mentoring aimed at helping clients move from crisis to stability. In 2022 Next Steps opened Shepherd’s House, a women’s recovery/transitional living home, and in early 2023 the organization established a partnership to expand low-cost and no-cost mental health services for clients. Next Steps maintains active community partnerships with local government and community resource networks and continues to file annual Form 990s and operate as a donor-facing charity. Recent activity includes program expansion (housing and mental health service partnerships) and ongoing participation in local resource initiatives to assist residents with housing stability and crisis-related needs over the past 2–3 years.
