About OUR VILLAGE CLOSET

Our Village Closet is a Santa Rosa, California–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that operates a client-facing resource center supplying clothing, baby equipment, bedding, car seats, hygiene items, backpacks and other essentials to youth and caregivers involved with the foster-care system in Sonoma County. The organization maintains a centralized Resource Center and runs seasonal drives and events (for example back-to-school backpacks and holiday giveaways) while coordinating with local agencies and partner organizations to meet immediate placement and transition needs with dignity and care. Founded and recognized as tax-exempt in 2020, Our Village Closet has grown its fundraising and grant support in recent years and reports several thousand annual client visits, serving hundreds to nearly a thousand youth per year through center visits and distributed supplies.

The Resource Center recorded thousands of visits in recent years (over 4,500 visits reported in 2025), meeting the needs of hundreds to nearly 1,000 unique youth in a single year and providing immediate essentials during placements and transitions.

Secured multi-year and one-time grants from local foundations and funders that explicitly supported programs and staffing (including six-figure aggregate revenue activity in 2023–2024 and foundation grants used to support a Resource Coordinator position).

Grew to an annual operating budget in the mid-hundreds of thousands (reported revenues approximately $187k in 2024) with corresponding increases in program activity, fundraising events, and community partnerships.
