About ART SONG COLORADO
Founded in 2015 as the Denver Art Song Project and now operating as Art Song Colorado, ASC is a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 84-4484264) that introduces new audiences to classical art song through themed, narrative-driven concerts and multimedia projects.
ASC programs combine live performance, storytelling, visual art, puppetry and recorded media to make art song accessible to families, students and general audiences while creating paid performance and recording opportunities for Colorado artists.
In the last three years ASC has expanded its recorded catalog and premiered new work for families, launched an annual competition for emerging singers, and produced seasonal touring and school/community programs across the Front Range (notably 2023–2025 activities).
Notable achievements
World premiere and recording: Colorado Sky
Commissioned and co-produced the children’s puppet opera Colorado Sky (by Ben Morris and Laura Fuentes) with partners in 2023 and released the work commercially, expanding ASC’s reach into family-centered opera and multimedia.
Launch of Art Song Colorado Competition
Established an annual competition for emerging singers (inaugural competition in 2024) that awards cash prizes and recital contracts, raising professional development opportunities for Colorado vocalists.
Expanded recorded catalog and digital projects
Released multiple albums and video projects (including Bandcamp releases and online #artsongexperiment content) to document work, support artists and reach audiences beyond live venues.
