About Denver Art Museum

The Denver Art Museum (DAM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit art museum in Denver, Colorado, with an encyclopedic collection of more than 70,000 works spanning global cultures and centuries. The museum operates a multi‑building campus that presents rotating special exhibitions, long‑term collection installations (including one of the nation’s largest Indigenous Arts of North America collections), and public education programs.

In the last several years DAM has focused on reimagining gallery installations and public programs, undertaken major campus renewal projects and re‑openings, and expanded work on provenance research and repatriation. Recent activity includes a multi‑year centennial program for the museum’s Indigenous Arts collection (including the SUSTAINED! exhibition and related symposium programming), high‑profile temporary exhibitions, and ongoing community engagement initiatives such as family and school learning programs and after‑hours artist takeover events.
