About ROCKY MOUNTAIN WEAVERS' GUILD
Founded as a local weavers' association in 1953 and incorporated as a nonprofit organization, the Rocky Mountain Weavers' Guild (RMWG) is a member-run 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting hand weaving and related fiber arts through education, exhibitions, and community outreach.
RMWG runs monthly membership meetings, hands-on workshops, study groups, an extensive lending library, scholarship programs, an active outreach program, and an annual fiber arts sale; recent activities include the guild's 70th anniversary exhibition in 2023, participation in Colorado Weavers Day 2024, and a successful 2025 fiber sale and member fashion show.
Notable achievements
70th Anniversary Exhibition (2023)
A special show marking seven decades of guild activity was presented in 2023, highlighting member work and the guild’s long history of fiber arts promotion.
Janice Ford Memorial Dye Garden
An ongoing collaborative dye-garden project with Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms that supports natural-dye education, sample displays and public programming.
Sustained Colorado Weavers Day Leadership
Hosting and supporting Colorado Weavers Day (including the 2024 event) with keynote speakers, vendors, and scholarships to expand access to fiber-arts education.
