About North American Neuro‑Ophthalmology Society (NANOS)

The North American Neuro‑Ophthalmology Society (NANOS) is a professional medical society of clinicians and scientists—primarily ophthalmologists and neurologists—dedicated to advancing the diagnosis, treatment, and understanding of disorders at the intersection of vision and the nervous system. NANOS advances the field through an annual scientific meeting, education and mentorship programs for trainees, the peer‑reviewed Journal of Neuro‑Ophthalmology, research awards, clinical resources for patients, and a directory to help patients find neuro‑ophthalmology specialists. In the past 2–3 years NANOS has continued to run its annual scientific meetings (including on‑demand CME content), expanded trainee pipeline and resident support programs, published and promoted clinical and educational content through the Journal of Neuro‑Ophthalmology, and maintained patient education materials and a clinician directory to improve access to specialty care.
