TAJA Co. is organized to provide services that identify and fulfill the immediate needs of transgender women of color through the lens of social equity by increasing education and understanding of the transgender experience to the general public, eliminating violence, creating employment opportunities, and a leadership pipeline, and supporting existing programs that provide services to transgender women.

Transgender Advocates for Justice and Accountability (TAJA) Coalition is a San Francisco-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in February 2015 in response to the murder of Taja Gabrielle de Jesus. The coalition is led by and centers transgender women of color and works to stop violence against trans women of color through direct services, leadership development, and public education.
In recent years TAJA Co. has expanded program delivery (including a Somatic Arts & Peer Navigation Microfellowship and case management services), deepened partnerships with city agencies and other trans-serving organizations, and secured institutional funding to scale services. Financial filings and public profiles show notable revenue growth and sustained program spending focused on direct services between fiscal years 2021–2023, indicating active, operating programming and stewardship of donor funds.

Founding and sustained grassroots leadership
Founded in February 2015 in response to the murder of Taja Gabrielle de Jesus, TAJA Co. has remained in continuous operation and established itself as a trans-led coalition centering transgender women of color in San Francisco advocacy and service delivery.
