About CROSSOVER FOR CHANGE
Crossover for Change is a Colorado Springs–based nonprofit founded in 2020 by a group of student-athletes. The organization uses basketball and sport-based programming to promote leadership, self-esteem, and school retention among adolescent girls in Uganda.
Since its founding it has run in-country basketball camps, built and refurbished courts, and run fundraising and awareness events in the United States to support education, technology access, and scholarships for Ugandan students. In recent years the group has partnered with sport-education programs and university athletic teams to expand camps and local fundraising activity.
Notable achievements
International girls' camps (2022)
Ran multi‑site girls basketball camps in Uganda in partnership with sport‑education groups, reaching hundreds of participants and combining skills training with career and life‑skills programming.
Court construction projects
Completed multiple basketball court construction/rehabilitation projects at partner schools in Uganda to expand safe, regular access to sport for students.
Sustained U.S. fundraising and campus partnerships
Established recurring community fundraising events (virtual and in-person 5Ks) and secured support from collegiate athletic groups to fund programs, technology labs and scholarships.
