IMAGINATION LIBRARY OF COLORADO
To increase literacy and kindergarten readiness in Colorado by ensuring equitable access to high-quality, age-appropriate books for all children from birth through age five.
About IMAGINATION LIBRARY OF COLORADO
Imagination Library of Colorado is a statewide 501(c)(3) affiliate of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library that mails free, age-appropriate books monthly to enrolled children from birth through age five. The organization works with local community partners and the statewide program to expand book access, nurture family reading routines, and improve early literacy outcomes across Colorado. Since creating a statewide program in 2020, Imagination Library of Colorado has grown rapidly — partnering with the Colorado Department of Early Childhood (state matching funds), expanding to all 64 counties, and distributing millions of books. Recent program monitoring and independent evaluation work has focused on kindergarten readiness and program reach, and the organization reports sustained enrollment and measurable distribution milestones across the state.

Millions of Books Distributed
Distributed more than three million books in Colorado since the statewide launch, with tens of thousands of children receiving monthly books and significant annual graduation cohorts of five-year-olds.
