About Grand Rapids LGBTQ+ Healthcare Consortium

The Grand Rapids LGBTQ+ Healthcare Consortium is a regional, donor-facing 501(c)(3) nonprofit that coordinates providers, community organizations, and resources to reduce healthcare disparities experienced by LGBTQ+ people in the greater Grand Rapids area. The organization develops practical, evidence-informed tools and trainings for clinicians, families, and youth and maintains an online healthcare directory of affirming providers.

In 2025–2026 the Consortium published a series of online toolkits (including a Sexual Health Toolkit for youth, families, and providers) and expanded provider-facing resources aimed at improving patient intake practices, sexual-health histories, and clinician competency. It operates through partnerships with local health centers and systems and by delivering trainings and resource-sharing to improve health equity for LGBTQ+ populations.

The Consortium was organized as a nonprofit in 2020 and is recorded as tax-exempt by the IRS in 2021. It maintains an active public website and crowdfunding/donation pages, has filed federal Form 990 returns (most recent filings show operations and revenue/expenses for the 2024 fiscal year), and continues community collaborations and local media outreach to disseminate its toolkits and trainings.
