About LOST WOMEN OF SCIENCE INITIATIVE INC
Lost Women of Science Initiative is a San Francisco–based 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit (formed 2021) that researches and publishes deeply reported narratives about overlooked women in science. Its flagship program is the Lost Women of Science podcast series, which produces multi-episode seasons and standalone episodes that bring archival research and biography to general audiences. The organization pairs public-facing storytelling with an educational agenda: it works to digitize and archive primary source materials, create classroom and public-facing resources, and partner with institutions (including higher-education partners) to make research and teaching materials widely available. In recent years the Initiative has expanded production, secured multi-year foundation funding, and launched projects to correct and create encyclopedia (Wikipedia) entries and other reference resources for the scientists it profiles.
