About Bottles4College

Bottles4College is a Hawaiʻi-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in Hauʻula that converts recyclable cans and bottles into funding for college scholarships while promoting community recycling and environmental stewardship. The organization was started by Genshu Price and runs community drives, residential pickups, school programs, and event recycling partnerships across the state. In recent years Bottles4College has scaled its collection and scholarship efforts, running large public drives (including the Aloha Aina Fair at Windward Mall on April 19, 2026) and distributing scholarships to local students (scholarship awards reported in April 2025). The group focuses on measurable environmental impact alongside youth education and volunteer opportunities.

Large-scale recycling milestone

Collected approximately 1.75–2.0 million cans and bottles to date, diverting roughly 140,000–150,000 pounds of material from landfills and strengthening recycling culture across Oʻahu.
