About EARTH FOUNDATION USA

Earth Foundation USA is the U.S. arm of The Earth Foundation (founder: Peter McGarry) and operates as a donor-facing public charity focused on youth-led environmental innovation. The organization supports education, mentorship, and implementation pathways that help students and young entrepreneurs turn climate and sustainability ideas into real-world projects.

Its flagship initiative, The Earth Prize, is a global youth competition and accelerator that has run annually since 2021 and continued active programming through 2023–2025. In the last 2–3 years the foundation has supported finalists and winners in piloting and deploying practical solutions (for example, finalist projects addressing flood prediction and wildfire sensing), worked with partner schools and local agencies, and sustained international outreach to thousands of young people.

Notable achievements

Launched and scaled The Earth Prize

Created the Earth Prize youth competition and accelerator (launched 2021) that identifies, mentors, and funds high-potential student teams developing environmental solutions; the Prize has become the foundation’s flagship program and a primary vehicle for youth engagement and project support.

Global youth reach and engagement

Since inception the Earth Prize ecosystem has engaged thousands of students and schools internationally (multi‑year growth across 2022–2025), drawing finalists and winners from multiple continents and expanding the foundation’s international footprint.

Real-world project implementation

Finalist and winning teams from recent editions have moved beyond prototypes into field deployments and partnership pilots (examples across 2024–2025 include flood‑prediction and AI wildfire sensor projects working with local agencies).
