About FINDING FREEDOM RANCH INC

Finding Freedom Ranch is a faith-based nonprofit in Wayland/Moline, Michigan that provides support, outpatient services, and a planned residential treatment program for adolescent and young adult women struggling with eating disorders. The organization combines clinical and therapeutic practices with a gospel-centered approach, integrating Biblical counseling and experiential therapies such as equine work, beekeeping, and gardening. The organization was founded by the Burgess family after their own experience seeking residential treatment for a daughter and was incorporated and recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2021. Since formation it has run support groups and educational programming while advancing a capital campaign to build Michigan’s first residential, faith-centered eating disorder treatment facility for young women. In recent years Finding Freedom Ranch has progressed its Building Freedom capital campaign (a multi-phase $2.5M project to construct The Lodge, stables, and a bunkhouse to house up to 12 residents), completed initial site/infrastructure work, broken ground on its property, and shown substantial financial growth: revenue rose from approximately $357,517 in 2022 to about $529,607 in 2024 and net assets increased into the high six figures/low seven figures during that period.
