About COLORADO/WYOMING VIZSLA RESCUE GROUP, INC.
Colorado/Wyoming Vizsla Rescue Group, Inc. (CWVRG) is an incorporated 501(c)(3) rescue organization (formed as a nonprofit board in 2007) focused on taking in, rehabilitating and placing Vizslas and Vizsla mixes in permanent homes across Colorado, Wyoming, western Kansas, western Nebraska and New Mexico.
CWVRG operates as a volunteer foster-and-transport network (no central shelter), provides veterinary care and behavioral rehabilitation for ill, injured, senior and special‑needs dogs, and works with regional shelters and the Vizsla breed community to increase placements and public education.
In recent years the group has continued regular public events and fundraisers (their annual Vizsla V-ibe and online fundraising/gift‑shop efforts), maintained active adoption listings, and emphasized volunteer recruitment and expanded volunteer role descriptions to support transports, foster care and fundraising.
Notable achievements
Sustained placement impact
The organization reports rehoming hundreds of Vizslas over decades (site figures note dozens per year and 1,000+ placements attributed since the late 1990s), demonstrating long‑term regional impact.
Care for special‑needs cases
Successfully rehabilitated and placed complex cases (examples on the site include cleft palate and other congenital or medically challenging dogs) and runs senior sponsorship programs.
Active volunteer & foster network
Maintains a volunteer-driven foster and transport network that enables intake, cross‑state movement and individual evaluation without a centralized shelter facility.
