About REFOCUS RECOVERY

Refocus Recovery is a Minneapolis-based recovery community organization (RCO) that provides peer recovery support services, workforce development for peer recovery specialists, community outreach, and public education related to substance use recovery. The organization obtained tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status in early 2023 and expanded programming and billing activity in 2022–2023, including a Minnesota Certification Board–approved peer curriculum and recurring community engagement events. Since spring and summer 2024 Refocus Recovery has been the subject of state-level review and media coverage; Minnesota Health Care Programs payments to the organization were temporarily withheld effective September 6, 2024, and the organization reported disruption to program operations while the matters were addressed.
