About TRANSPLANT HOUSE OF WEST MICHIGAN

Transplant House of West Michigan is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that operates a low-cost residential house near hospitals in Grand Rapids to support transplant patients, caregivers, and families. The organization was founded by transplant recipients who use lived experience to shape a supportive, peer-oriented environment and affordable lodging during pre- and post-transplant care. Since opening its house and holding public open-house events in late June 2024, the organization has run continuous (24/7) low-cost stays for transplant families and developed donor- and community-supported programs such as sponsor-a-room and an Amazon wish list to underwrite operations. In calendar year 2025 the organization reported program activity that included dozens of guest stays and an estimated aggregate cost savings to families as a measurable impact of its services.
