About TRANSPLANT HOUSE OF WEST MICHIGAN

Transplant House of West Michigan is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that operates a low-cost residential house near hospitals in Grand Rapids to support transplant patients, caregivers, and families. The organization was founded by transplant recipients who use lived experience to shape a supportive, peer-oriented environment and affordable lodging during pre- and post-transplant care. Notable achievements

Grand opening and start of operations (June 29–30, 2024)

The organization held public open-house events at the house in late June 2024 and began operating a staffed, 24/7 residence near transplant centers in Grand Rapids to receive patients and caregivers.

2025 guest support and cost savings

In calendar year 2025 the Transplant House reported serving 57 distinct guest stays and estimated that those guests saved approximately $260,000 in lodging and related costs compared with market alternatives.
