About Levi's Legacy
Levi's Legacy is a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit created in memory of Levi Robert Herman that provides direct support to families facing congenital heart defects (CHD), builds community through storytelling and peer support, and raises funds for clinical research in pediatric cardiology.
In the last 2–3 years the organization has expanded both its family-facing programs (monthly grants, care packages, Warrior Wednesday profiles, grief work) and its research philanthropy, directing substantial gifts to the Heart Institute at Children’s Hospital Colorado to fund studies and clinical innovations.
Notable achievements
Little Hearts Gala 2025 — $200,000 raised
The 4th Annual Little Hearts Gala (April 5, 2025) brought together roughly 200 attendees and raised $200,000 earmarked for pediatric cardiac research at the Heart Institute at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
Over $526,000 donated to CHC
Cumulative research philanthropy exceeding $500,000 directed to Children’s Hospital Colorado to fund projects such as pediatric IPG implantation research, pediatric atrial fibrillation cardioversion work, HLHS-focused studies and inpatient neurodevelopment optimization (CINCO).
Direct family impact
Significant family-level support delivered in recent years: thousands of care items and toys/books distributed, nearly $57,000 in direct family grants reported, and ongoing monthly $1,000 family grants through Levi’s Helping Herd.
