About HOOPOE SHARE LITERACY FUND

Hoopoe Share Literacy Fund (HSLF) is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit (EIN 87-3362929) that operates the Hoopoe Books publishing imprint and global book-donation programs. The organization focuses on distributing bilingual and illustrated teaching-stories, creating teacher/parent support materials, and publishing read-online books, audio, and simple animations to support literacy and higher-order thinking in underserved communities.

HSLF took responsibility for Hoopoe Books and its outreach programs in October 2022 and is led by Safia Shah as President. Its flagship programs include Share Literacy, Books for Afghanistan, Books for Pakistan and Books for Refugees; the organization runs both print distribution programs and a growing virtual library of translated and narrated titles to reach children and partner organizations worldwide.

In the past 2–3 years HSLF has invested in digitizing and translating Hoopoe titles (multiple languages), launched a virtual library and produced multilingual teacher resources, while continuing on-the-ground distribution through partner networks and targeted donation campaigns to reach children in conflict-affected and underserved regions.
