About St Peter Catholic

St Peter Catholic (founded 2022) is a private, Catholic, co-educational Career & Technical high school in Houston’s Third Ward that combines a four-year Catholic high school curriculum with industry-aligned career and technical education pathways. The school is independently governed by a Board of Trustees and operates with oversight from the Archdiocese of Galveston–Houston and accreditation from the Texas Conference of Catholic Bishops Education Department (TCCBED).

St Peter Catholic opened to students in August 2023 and offers academic pathways including Business, Construction, Education, Health Sciences, and Information Technology, together with campus ministry, theology classes, retreats and service opportunities. The school has pursued partnerships with local colleges and workforce partners (notably Houston Community College) to provide dual-credit coursework and industry certification opportunities for students.

Notable achievements

First Catholic Career & Technical High School in Texas

Established in 2022 and opened to students in August 2023, St Peter Catholic is the first private, Catholic, co-educational career & technical high school in the state, offering integrated college-prep and workforce skill pathways.

Campus renovation and opening

Completed a multi-million-dollar renovation of its Third Ward facility and hosted a formal blessing/ribbon-cutting as the school launched operations and enrolled its initial student cohorts.

Early financial and programmatic support

Reported strong start-up fundraising and financial support in FY2023 (reported ~$4.3M in contributions and approximately $6.6M in net assets on its FY2023 Form 990), enabling program launch, facility upgrades, and initial financial aid programs.
