About LAST MILE EDUCATION FUND

Last Mile Education Fund provides rapid, targeted financial support to college students who are near graduation in high-demand STEM and technology fields but face short-term financial barriers that could force them to stop out. The organization focuses on fast, flexible awards (no GPA minimum, no competitive application in many programs) and partners with colleges, employers, and funders to convert persistence into on-time graduation and career placement. Last Mile operates a scalable, data-informed model designed to serve students traditionally excluded from philanthropic pipelines; its approach emphasizes low-dollar, high-impact investments that unlock degree completion and workforce entry in tech and engineering.

Notable achievements

Has supported over 15,000 students with more than $18 million awarded, an average investment under $3,000 per student, and reports an ~80% graduation rate among supported recipients and a projected 45× 10-year social return on investment.

National Math Talent Fund (2026 launch)

Co-led the launch of the National Math Talent Fund with the Mathematical Association of America in August 2026 — a multi-year initiative designed to keep mathematics and quantitative-science students on track to graduation, backed by major founding supporters.

Major philanthropic & employer partnerships

Built a network of institutional donors and partners including national foundations, technology employers, and institutional funders to scale gap funding and employer-aligned pathways that connect degree completion to high-demand roles.
