CYBER DEFENSE CENTER

Cyber Defense Center (CDC) is a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that operates cybersecurity education, apprenticeship and hands-on training programs for students, veterans, law enforcement, and community partners. Founded in 2011, the organization focuses on experiential learning (internships, mock SOC operations, and cyber camps) and applied research to close workforce gaps and improve collective community defense.

The CDC administers a U.S. Department of Labor-registered apprenticeship, runs project-centered internships and K–12/college outreach, and partners with an affiliated commercial sponsor (Blackswan Cybersecurity) to provide industry-grade operational context and technical resources. In the last 2–3 years the organization has published practitioner-focused guidance and tools, expanded internship and apprenticeship activity, and continued to run cyber camps and mock-SOC training for learners.
