The organization was founded by U.S. Army veteran Michael Connors and grew out of his private training work and personal experience with animal-assisted recovery.
In the last 2–3 years ConnorsK9-PAWS has expanded public outreach (community events and fundraisers), run its service-dog application and placement program, recruited puppy raisers and short-term fosters, and held annual events (including an annual ruck march) to raise awareness and funds for veteran mental health and suicide prevention.
