About OPERATION LIFELINE INC

Operation Lifeline Inc. is a veteran-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in St. Johns / Green Cove Springs, Florida (EIN 88-1590047). Founded in 2022 by Lt. Col. Erick Saks (Ret.), the organization focuses on affordable homeownership, critical home rehabilitation, permanent supportive housing for veterans, and DoD SkillBridge workforce training for transitioning service members.

Operation Lifeline combines volunteer-built construction projects, public grants and private partnerships to deliver housing and wraparound supports (case management, benefits navigation, job placement). In the past 2–3 years the charity has opened a permanent supportive housing residence for veterans, advanced a small affordable-home subdivision project (“Lifeline Landing”), and delivered mortgage-free homes and major rehabs while training SkillBridge interns in construction trades.

The organization maintains an active Florida not-for-profit registration and a public web presence with program documentation and application materials; donations are presented as tax-deductible (EIN 88-1590047).

Notable achievements

Established veteran-focused housing programs (2022)

Founded in 2022, Operation Lifeline quickly launched four core program areas—homeownership, home rehabilitation, supportive housing, and workforce/skills training—creating a coordinated pipeline from repair and stabilization to long-term affordable ownership.

Opened Clay County’s first permanent supportive housing for veterans (May 8, 2025)

Operation Lifeline renovated a historic Green Cove Springs residence into a permanent supportive housing home with five private bedrooms and on-site wraparound services; the residence began housing veterans in May 2025.

Delivered mortgage-free homes and SkillBridge-built housing (2025–2026)

Through partnerships and its SkillBridge internship program, Operation Lifeline completed construction and accessibility-focused builds—culminating in a mortgage-free home handed to a disabled Army veteran in April 2026—and routinely places transitioning service members in hands-on construction and nonprofit-management internships.
