About ESSENTIAL STRIDES
Essential Strides is a U.S.-based medical mission nonprofit founded by Dr. Kevin Blue and Dr. Lauren Molchan (founded 2021) that focuses on correcting lower-extremity conditions that limit mobility through surgery and training of local clinicians.
The organization runs short-term surgical missions, delivers hands-on education for regional physicians, and supports partner clinics with equipment and postoperative supplies to create durable improvements in patient mobility and local capacity.
In recent years Essential Strides has combined local fundraising and national partnerships to fund missions, clinician training, and clinic support work in underserved and rural communities.

Inaugural Peru mission (2022)
Launched international work with a planned mission to Moyobamba, Peru (July 2022) focused on reconstructive lower-extremity surgery, postoperative packages, and local clinician education.
