EARLY BIRD BOOKS
To increase early-childhood literacy by providing free, age-appropriate books to children through affiliation with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and supporting caregivers with reading resources so every child enters school with a foundation for reading success.
About EARLY BIRD BOOKS
Early Bird Books is a donor-facing 501(c)(3) nonprofit that operates as the local affiliate of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in the Rockford / greater Kent County area of Michigan. The organization signs children up to receive a free, personalized book mailed each month from birth until age five, and it provides resources to parents and community partners to foster reading in the home. Since launching its Imagination Library work in 2022, Early Bird Books has expanded service areas, worked with local schools and foundations, and published annual impact reports documenting growth and community outcomes. The organization conducts caregiver surveys and coordinates local fundraising to cover enrollment costs and postage increases so children can remain enrolled through program graduation.
