MILES FOR MADISON
Miles for Madison is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to creating recreational and educational opportunities for families with children with special needs, primarily by advocating for and supporting inclusive parks, adaptive play equipment, scholarships, and sensory-friendly programs.
About MILES FOR MADISON
Founded in memory of Madison Mercedes Reynolds (1994–2018), Miles for Madison works to remove barriers to play and community participation so children of all abilities can access safe, engaging playgrounds and recreational experiences.
The organization combines community advocacy, targeted grants and scholarships (for camps and therapies), and signature fundraising events to build inclusive park features and deliver direct support to local families.
In recent years Miles for Madison has driven local policy and project changes in Sterling Ranch, helped open the community's first inclusive park, and expanded scholarships and sensory-friendly programming (camp scholarships, hippotherapy support, sensory swim and egg-hunt events).
Notable achievements
Sterling Ranch inclusive park (groundbreaking/opened)
Led advocacy and partnership efforts that secured inclusive design commitments and helped bring the first inclusive park in Sterling Ranch from groundbreaking (April 2024) to opening.
Easterseals camp scholarships
Established recurring scholarships enabling multiple Douglas County individuals to attend Easterseals Rocky Mountain Village camp, expanding access to inclusive overnight experiences.
Hippotherapy scholarships & equipment donations
Funded hippotherapy scholarships and donated playground equipment and sensory resources to local early childhood programs, increasing adaptive play opportunities.
