About Emergency Nurses Association

The Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) is the leading professional organization representing emergency nursing, founded in 1970 and serving tens of thousands of members worldwide. ENA provides specialty education, practice guidance, research support, and a national voice for policy and workplace safety issues affecting emergency nurses.

ENA operates a comprehensive professional education platform (ENA University), publishes practice resources and the Journal of Emergency Nursing, convenes an annual Emergency Nursing conference, and coordinates national and state-level advocacy through its EN411 Action Network.

Notable achievements

Large, sustained membership and national reach

ENA represents a broad community of emergency nursing professionals (tens of thousands of members) and supports a network of state councils and chapters across the U.S. and internationally.

In recent years ENA has grown its online education pathways and course offerings, increasing access to specialty and refresher training for emergency nurses.

Active national advocacy and new tools
