About HEALING THE CHILDREN
Healing the Children is a U.S.-based nonprofit network (multiple regional chapters) that organizes volunteer medical and surgical teams, brings selected critically ill children to the United States for care, and partners with in-country providers to build local capacity.
Since its founding in 1979 the organization has grown into a nationwide volunteer network that delivers pro bono clinical care, surgical skills training, and sustainable international projects; recent activity includes a 2024 Impact Report and medical team deployments across multiple countries.
Notable achievements
Hundreds of thousands of children served
Since 1979 volunteers have provided medical care to more than 320,000 children through inbound, outbound, and domestic programs.
