About NEPAL SEEDS

Nepal SEEDS is a San Francisco–based 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 91-1838689) that has supported community-led development projects across rural Nepal since the late 1990s. The organization partners closely with local leaders and regional coordinators to identify and implement practical, sustainable projects in education, health, water and sanitation, and environmental resilience.

Programs emphasize locally managed, culturally appropriate solutions — for example, biogas and clean-water systems, teacher salaries and school meal programs, and school construction and maintenance. Recent public filings and the organization's communications report annual operating revenues on the order of ~$310k and ongoing project activity (including annual fundraising galas and completed school construction) in the past 2–3 years.

Notable achievements

Biogas and clean water systems

Supported design and construction of biogas and clean-water delivery projects (notably in Namobuddha municipality), advancing household energy and safe drinking water access for rural communities.

Education support for 1,000+ students

Funded teacher salaries (reported support for 19 village teachers), school milk and lunch programs, and supplies—benefiting over 1,040 students including a reported 125 students at the Gorkha School for the Deaf.

School infrastructure completed

Led fundraising and construction to complete a new school building (Rupadevi Basic School, Makwanpur District) and handed the facility to the local school management committee, with an official inauguration involving local officials and community leaders.
