About THE ALEXANDRIA ARCHIVE INSTITUTE
The Alexandria Archive Institute (AAI) is a San Francisco–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that develops open web technologies, advocacy, research, and education to preserve and share archaeological and cultural heritage data. Its signature platform, Open Context, provides open-access publication and archival services for structured archaeological data and associated media. AAI operates as a small, grant-supported organization that partners with universities, museums, foundations, and federal funders to sustain long-term access to research data and to run data literacy and community-centered projects.
