About Bay Area Asian Sports (BAAS / BAAS Dragons)

Founded in the early 2000s, Bay Area Asian Sports (known publicly as BAAS or the BAAS Dragons) is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) youth sports organization based in San Francisco that focuses on basketball programs for children of Asian and Pacific Islander descent. The organization runs teams from elementary through high school age, organizes clinics, camps, leagues, and an annual invitational tournament, and maintains an active alumni and parent community. BAAS operates as a largely volunteer-driven club that secures gym space, forms new teams each season, and offers financial-aid scholarships to support player participation. In recent years the organization has continued regular program activity (including an annual tournament) and maintained public nonprofit filings and financial records. BAAS serves hundreds of families across the greater Bay Area, fields multiple teams each season (varying year to year), and emphasizes community-building through sport while pursuing longer-term goals such as a dedicated community sports facility.
