About CU ANSCHUTZ STUDENT CHAPTER OF THE BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING SOCIETY
The CU Anschutz BMES student chapter (also styled AMC BMES) is the official Biomedical Engineering Society chapter for students at the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus. It organizes professional-development programming, speaker/Lunch & Learn series, industry tours, mentorship, and student competitions to prepare bioengineering students for careers in research, medicine, and industry.
AMC BMES operates as a student chapter affiliated with the national BMES and as a campus student organization (not a separately incorporated 501(c)(3)). Recent activity (2023–2025) includes student pitch competitions, an active Rocky Mountain mentorship program, recurring Lunch & Learn talks, and industry site visits that connect students with regional companies and clinical partners.
Notable achievements
Pitch Night (student competition)
Hosted a student pitch competition on Sep 29, 2023 that showcased student team projects and fostered entrepreneurship and cross-disciplinary feedback.
Rocky Mountain Mentors program
Established and sustained a regional mentorship program that pairs students with professionals and advanced trainees to support career development and research mentorship.
Regular industry engagement
Consistently organized industry tours and Lunch & Learn sessions (examples in 2024–2025) to connect students with local biomedical companies and clinical partners.
