TRANSITION RESOURCE ACTION CENTER
We assist young people ages 16–24 who are transitioning out of foster or juvenile care and their unhoused peers in North Texas. We provide the support needed to reach self-sufficiency through individualized support, planning, and access to housing and community services.
About TRANSITION RESOURCE ACTION CENTER
Transition Resource Action Center (TRAC) is a Dallas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that serves young people (generally ages 16–24) who are aging out of foster or juvenile care and their unhoused peers across the North Texas region. TRAC operates drop-in centers in Dallas and Fort Worth and offers coordinated services including housing assistance, workforce support, education navigation, life-skills (PAL) training, and trauma-informed health and counseling referrals. In 2024 TRAC published impact outcomes showing it served more than 1,100 unduplicated youth that year and met or exceeded multiple program goals (including drop-in visits, PAL graduates, and housing retention through its OnTRAC housing program). TRAC formally separated from CitySquare and established independent nonprofit status in the 2023–2024 period, building its own executive and administrative structure. Recent organizational developments include new executive leadership beginning in early 2025 and continued partnerships and subrecipient agreements with municipal and state housing programs to expand housing and supportive services for unaccompanied young adults.
Notable achievements
Established independent nonprofit status
TRAC spun off from CitySquare in 2023–2024 to operate as its own independent 501(c)(3), creating standalone governance, finance, and executive leadership.
Strong 2024 program outcomes
In its 2024 impact reporting TRAC served over 1,100 unduplicated youth, recorded 2,742 drop-in visits, produced 116 PAL (life-skills) graduates with 100% scoring over 80% on knowledge assessments, and enrolled 111 youth in its OnTRAC housing program with an 88% six-month housing retention rate.
Secured municipal contracts for housing services
TRAC was awarded multiple City of Dallas subrecipient agreements (renewals/awards across 2024–2026) to provide engagement, housing placements, and supportive services for unaccompanied young adults.
