About SAN FRANCISCO SENIOR CENTER

San Francisco Senior Center (SFSC), founded in 1947, is the nation’s oldest nonprofit senior center and operates multi-site programs in San Francisco (Aquatic Park and Downtown) serving older adults (60+) and adults with disabilities (18+). SFSC is run as a community-services program under Sequoia Living and is supported by the Senior Services for Northern California foundation. The Center provides meals, social services and case management, fitness and arts programming, lifelong learning classes, and Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC) assistance to reduce isolation and promote independent living. Each year the Center serves thousands of participants through on-site activities, meal programs and partnerships with local providers; recent years have included facility upgrades, expanded arts programming and ongoing meal and social-service delivery to low-income and frail older adults.
