SAN FRANCISCO CENTER FOR PSYCHOANALYSIS
At SFCP, we aspire to cultivate a diverse community dedicated to the teaching, practice, and ongoing evolution of a pluralistic and socially-relevant psychoanalysis that aims to reduce suffering and promote psychological growth. The organization works to offer accessible psychoanalytic training and education, extend psychoanalytic services to the wider community, and foster interdisciplinary research and collaboration.
About SAN FRANCISCO CENTER FOR PSYCHOANALYSIS
The San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis (SFCP) is a long-established nonprofit institute for psychoanalytic training, research, and community education. Its institutional roots trace to the early 1940s and it operates as a formal, tax-exempt training and educational organization (EIN 94-1546088). SFCP runs multiple training programs (adult psychoanalytic training, psychotherapy training, child & adolescent programs), extension and continuing-education offerings, scientific meetings, and a public referral service for psychoanalytic psychotherapy. The center maintains an active calendar of events, video archives, and CME/CE programming for professionals. In recent years SFCP has emphasized equity and access through new funding and grant programs (including a tuition credit fund and Candidate Training Grants ratified in 2023) and continues to operate with an active membership, ongoing public programming, and publicly filed financial returns (most recent fiscal-year filings reflect operating activity through the year ending June 2024).
