About PERFORMING ARTS WORKSHOP INC
Performing Arts Workshop (PAW) is a Bay Area, BIPOC-led 501(c)(3) arts education organization founded in the mid-1960s that provides long-term, sequential arts instruction through an artists-in-residency model. Its teaching artists deliver multi-week residencies in dance, theater, spoken word, creative writing, music and media arts in public schools and community sites across San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area. PAW focuses programming on students with limited access to arts education, emphasizing culturally relevant practice, social-emotional learning, and youth voice. In recent years the organization has published audited financial statements and Form 990s, continued multi-site residencies, and received public arts grant awards that support expanded programming.
