CHINESE NEWCOMERS SERVICE CENTER

Chinese Newcomers Service Center (CNSC) is a longstanding San Francisco nonprofit (founded 1969) that provides multilingual direct services to Chinese-speaking immigrants and other underserved residents. CNSC's core programs include immigration and naturalization assistance (form-filling and N-400 support), low-income taxpayer legal and tax-preparation clinics (LITC/TCE/VITA-style services), job search and workforce referral, small business and entrepreneurial resources, and community assistance such as food distribution and neighborhood clean-up initiatives. CNSC maintains active fiscal reporting and governance documents online (recent audited financial statements and IRS Form 990 filings) and continues to receive public and private grants to support program delivery. In the last 2–3 years the organization has published audited financials for FY2023, filed its 2022 IRS return, and participated in local City/County grant-funded programs (including Chinatown food distribution) demonstrating continued operations and community-facing activity. CNSC serves primarily monolingual Chinese-speaking newcomers through direct casework, workshops, and volunteer-staffed clinic models, focusing on practical navigation of U.S. systems (immigration, tax, benefits, employment) and broader community stabilization and wellbeing.
