About Central Chinese High School in America

Central Chinese High School in America is a longstanding overseas Chinese school in San Francisco’s Chinatown that offers integrated Chinese-language education across kindergarten, elementary, middle and high school levels, plus after-school and weekend programs. Founded in 1888, the school operates as a nonprofit educational institution and is affiliated with the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association.

The school serves a large student population through multiple scheduling options (weekday after-school, Saturday and Sunday sessions) and teaches all classes in Mandarin (using pinyin). In recent years the organization has continued regular operations, filed annual Form 990 reports as a 501(c)(3), and adjusted programming to reflect changing community language preferences and demand.
