COMMUNITY UNITED AGAINST VIOLENCE INC

Community United Against Violence (CUAV) is a San Francisco–based 501(c)(3) that provides survivor-centered advocacy, short-term peer counseling, support groups, leadership development, and community-based violence prevention focused on LGBTQI people, particularly those who are low- and no-income. CUAV operates direct services (peer advocacy counseling, weekly survivor support groups, and leadership development such as SAF-T) while participating in and often leading local and national coalitions addressing hate violence, domestic violence, and police violence. In recent years CUAV has shown financial and organizational stability: it reported positive net income and maintained a small professional staff while continuing to secure foundation grants and coalition partnerships to sustain program delivery (fiscal years 2023–2024).
