About San Francisco & Bay Area Korea Center
San Francisco & Bay Area Korea Center (also known as the Korean American Community Center of San Francisco & Bay Area) is a long‑standing 501(c)(3) community organization based at 745 Buchanan Street in San Francisco that provides cultural, educational and social programs for Korean Americans and the wider Bay Area community. Founded from early 20th‑century Korean immigrant organizing and formally organized in its modern form in the late 20th century, the Center runs recurring events and programs—including language and cultural education, heritage celebrations, and community commemorations—and has operated from its Buchanan Street location since 1989. In the last 2–3 years the Center has remained active with public commemorations and community programming (including Liberation Day events and local heritage celebrations), partnered with the Consulate General and regional Korean associations on large‑scale cultural events, and continued to host annual Korean cultural observances and community services.
